As a Doula, I Do Not:
Perform any clinical tasks
Such as Blood Pressure, Fetal heart checks, Vaginal exams, and others. A doula is there to provide only physical comfort support.
Make decisions for you
A doula will help you get the information necessary to make an informed decision. You will be advised if there is a departure from your birth plan.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
A doula will discuss your concerns with you and suggest options, but you or your partner will speak to the clinical staff.
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
A doula will provide you with evidence based care information, which are Facts to help you make decisons, support and advice from a trained Health Care Professional, and your own values, goals, and preferences.
I'm a DONA Certified Birth Doula. who understands, and trusts the process of birth. I have been a doula for seven years, and currently in my 2nd year as a Gold Certified HypnoBirthing Instructor.
I'm available to come to the home anytime the client needs me while in labor. I use various relaxation methods, including visualization, massage,calm breathing, and many other coping methods for first stage labor.
Baby’s first feeding Support
I remain with the new family for one to two hours after birth. I do not leave until baby has latched sucessfully and had his/her first feeding.
Postpartum follow-up visit
I follow up with a postpartum visit after the birth to review the events of labor and delivery, I will answer any questions regarding breastfeeding, and baby care. If additional assistance and support is needed, I am available by phone or, email for 4 weeks after baby is born. I can recommend additional referrals as needed.
1-2 Prenatal Visits
The purpose of the Prenatal visit is to become acquainted and comfortable with one another and to gather information about your plans and desires for your birth.
